I am overwhelmingly grateful for the extraordinary care my child received at this dental office. My child has autism so it’s difficult to find a dentist that would accommodate us. From the moment we walked in, Dr Ortega showed a level of compassion, patience, and kindness that no other doctor has shown before. No one has ever treated my child with such genuine affection, and it reminded me that there are still truly compassionate doctors who deeply care about their patients. What touched me most was how he spoke directly to my child, engaging her in heartfelt conversation about her favorite toys and television shows. He didn’t rush her, didn’t talk around her; he talked to her. That simple act made her feel seen, safe, and understood. Dr Ortega went above and beyond to treat her cavity while fully recognizing and respecting her ASD needs. Before the treatment day, he personally called to walk through the entire procedure step-by-step. He explained how he was ordering special materials at no additional cost so he could treat her cavity without anesthesia and with minimal drilling, knowing that loud sounds and unfamiliar sensations can easily overwhelm her. That level of thoughtfulness and preparation is something I have never experienced in any medical setting. During the appointment, he made sure my child was comfortable, calm, and reassured at every moment. His understanding of sensory sensitivities, his gentle approach, and his unwavering patience made what could have been a stressful experience feel peaceful and safe. This dentist didn’t just treat a cavity; he treated my child with dignity, respect, and love. For any parent of a child with ASD, finding a provider who truly gets it is priceless.
